About LRPS

The Loudoun Restoration and Preservation Society incorporated in 1973 and obtained recognition as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization the following year. For more than thirty years, LRPS has funded preservation and educational programs. Fundraising efforts have been as diverse as the projects supported.

For 29 years, LRPS sponsored August Court Days in Leesburg, Virginia. The event featured reenactments of court trials, living history, and craftspeople selling a variety of handmade wares. The festival drew visitors from throughout the region to the center of Leesburg. To fund restoration of the courthouse cupola, LRPS sponsed "Classics in the Courthouse" featuring the Loudoun Symphany Orchestra. In addition, LRPS sponsored sidewalk antique sales for several years on the streets of downtown Leesburg. Local citizens and businesses have also contributed financial support.

Members have given tirelessly of their time, talents, and imagination. LRPS has been fortunate to have partners on various projects, including local officials, the Bar Association, the Loudoun Museum, the Loudoun Symphany Orchestra, the Thomas Balch Library, local churches, and nonprofit organizations throughout the county.

LRPS invites you to join in preserving the best of Loudoun's heritage. As Loudoun continues to be one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, the urgency to take effective action to preserve historic sites is paramount. To find out how you can help support our efforts, please email LRPS .
