Annual Meeting and Preservation Award Reception
In celebration of National Preservation Month, the Loudoun Preservation Society will hold its annual meeting on May 24, 2012 at the historic Thomas Birkby House in downtown Leesburg. The meeting will be held in conjunction with our annual Preservation Awards Reception. Recipients of the Society’s Grant Awards will be announced and the 2012 Preservationist of the Year will be recognized.
In 2010, the Society partnered with the Joint Architectural Review Board (JARB) to honor the extraordinary preservation projects in our community. The JARB is composed of representatives from the architectural review boards for Leesburg, Middleburg, Purcellville and the seven county-administered historic districts. The JARB was formed in 2008 to recognize those individuals, organizations and companies whose projects have made a positive and lasting contribution to the enhancement of their historic communities. Refreshments will be catered by the students in the Culinary Arts Program at Monroe Technology Center in Leesburg.
